A 10x20 Shed    From Show Me Sheds

Picking a color for your shed

One thing to remember is that light colors don't get as hot in the sun. A white shed will stay cooler than a black shed.

Should I insulate my shed?

Unless you are going to install a heater or ac then there is no need to insulate. But I do recomend some type of material under the roof sheets due to condensation. Moisture will develop and drip off the roof sheets

Type of shed doors

The type of door that you decide to use with your shed is a big decision, remember that you will use the door every time you go into your shed, you might regret trying to save a little money now.     Walk in door ,  this is just a regular door like the door to your house. Pretty hard to fit a mower through one of these.   Garage type door , these are good doors if you are never going to use the over head space, for hanging a bicycle or anything like that, These doors should just stay on garages.   Double Doors , A double door is a good type of door, they can be wide enough to drive a riding mower through, and they look pretty good. But make sure it is a good one you don't want your doors to be sagging in 5 years. and if you have anythng setting around your shed they may not open all the way.  Roll Up Door . The different parts of a metal shed

There is not really that many parts to a metal shed, Basicaly you have the Purlins, gurts, columns, Walls, roof, and trim,  PURLINS, are usually Z shaped, and they are located in the roof, as part of the structure,  GURTS,   They are usually C shaped, and they go in the walls as part of the structure,  COLUMNS, Are verticle gurts located in the corners,  One of the main parts for structure,  WALL & ROOF SHEETS, self explanitory,  TRIM, Goes all over the shed, You got the corner trim, The eave trim, J trim (for around the windows), There are literally hundreds of different types of trims

If a car happens to hit your shed.

If that happens you had better hope that you have a metal shed. wood is just not as strong as steel, so if your shed gets ran into and its wood , I can guarantee there will be some damage. on a metal shed too probably, but not as much and it will be easier to fix.

How to build a shed.

How to build a shed. Before that gets overwhelming there is one thing that will save ALOT of headache and frustration, And I speak from experience. The first thing to do. I mean before anything, # 1, draw up a plan, or order blueprints, whatever it is .DO NOT just go get some material and start building. A plan drawn up on paper is very valuable. especially if you stick to that plan Think of it like this if you were going on a trip, to some place you have never been before, wouldn't you take a map? Of course, otherwise you may end up lost, and have to go back and redo part of the trip. A map, or plan will help make building a shed much more pleasant, ...
